Tamiya have launched a line of sanding sponge sheets. I’ve picked up the #1500 grit for about $8 at a LHS. It comes packaged in a clear plastic bag that is resealable and contains one sanding sponge and printed sheet with instructions and available grit in japanese. Quality is typical Tamiya, meaning very good. The sanding surface is even with no signs of the abrasive material coming off, with the sponge being of the right denseness to easily curve to the contours of a plane fuselage or car body but stiff enough for a flat surface.

The sponges come in the following grits:

#180
#240
#320
#400
#600
#1000
#1500

It would have been nice to include either 2 sheets in the package or have a sanding surface on both sides of the sheet.

Regardless, I still think it’s a handy product.
